This ’Rodney Streamline’ dispenser holds rolls of pre-gummed Brown Paper Tape, most often seen in the binding of books and for sealing the backs of framed artrworks and photographs. Tape is damped by the brush seen in the exit point - water is drawn from the black reservoir to the side.Very art deco design, which would fit with the 1920’s - 30’s period.
